Despite the “dog relief area,” the woman who threatened to call the cops and the bug infested vines…Catherine never lost her brilliant smile. She’s a mature young woman who I admire. Thank you Catherine for such a FUN (and funny) evening!

Renee + Ed (my in-laws!): 50th anniversary celebration in Waterton, AB

Now, I’m packing my camera for Fairbanks, Alaska.  That’s where I’ll be a bridesmaid in a wedding AND shooting it!

They put the bomb in bomb.com.

They put the…….ok, you get the point.

I meet new people just about every day and I can be 100% straight up when I say this couple made me smile from ear-to-ear.  They’re witty (actually hysterical), humble (cutely nervous about their first photo shoot together), genuine (kept asking questions about me) and great sports (they didn’t let a torrential downpour slow ‘em down).  Most importantly, they’re insanely IN LOVE.

Steph grew up in Great Falls, while Joby is an Ohio boy.  Their parents met 15 years years ago through work and became great friends.  But Steph + Joby didn’t meet for the first time until they were all grown up.  After their parents tried several times to set them up, it finally happened four years ago!  At last, the timing was right.  Well…everything was right.

They told me that they’re decorating their first home together in Washington D.C. with photos of old barns.  So, of course I wanted to do their shoot at a classic Montana barn!  I’m quite picky though.  Not any old barn would do.  After several twists, turns, door knocks and phone calls, we were led to this beauty…

After a quick outfit change, we went up to the loft.

The “serious look” lasts for about 1 second for these guys, so I LOVE this image that Ali captured.

I wish it would rain right before every session.  The sun was brilliant and the grass was soooooo green.  Oh, how I love you Montana.

After hanging out at the barn, we went to Steph’s house + THE EXACT SPOT where Joby proposed.  NICE WORK, Joby!

Mya is Steph’s family’s lovable, peppy chocolate lab.  Of course, all Mya wanted to do was run around and play fetch.  Every time I tried to get a picture of her, she’d take off!  I wasn’t worried about it though.  I knew she’d end up being in the right photo…

I CANNOT WAIT to share more images with you.  For now, I’ll leave you with these 3 that make me smile.

Some quotes from them at the beginning of the shoot went a little something like this, “We’ve never done a professional shoot together. We are not photogenic at all.”

Ummmm. yeah. Not even close to the truth!  This is what I tell people all of the time: It has nothing to do with being used to the camera.  It’s all about your chemistry and attitude!

This couple is magnetic. Not just to one another, but to other people.  I LOVED being in their presence. Hotties, sweeties and down right incredible.

I’m going to be a tease again.  There are so many images (and favorites) from their wedding + day after session that I don’t know where to start/stop.  I’m still putting together an enormous blog posting, but I know that Joey + Patrick are dyin’ to see more.  Here are just a few more faves until the big daddy post.

Speaking of the new studio, here is the mastermind behind our design plans!  Evan has an amazing creative mind, which he used to incorporate tons of cool ideas into our space….even a little history.    He also has an amazing future wife…

For their shoot, we hopped over to the quaint town of Belt — a place where I’ve never shot before.  Super cool buildings everywhere…but my favorite place ended up being a random parking lot that was frozen over.

I love this first image because they were freezing cold…yet still comfy and snuggly.  Plus, Michelle looks beautiful…

Here’s another engaged couple that has a special spot in my heart.  Chris and I go waaaay back.  Well, way back to 5 years ago when we worked together at KRTV.  Amber just moved up here and her laid-back, friendly, down-to-earth personality fits right into Montana.

Because they’re such great friends, I was at total ease going into this session.  I just wanted them to have a fun time while we drove around town and stopped at locations completely spontaneously!  We even made a pit stop in the middle of the session at Fuddruckers for burgers and fries!  I feel like when you let things happen naturally, everything turns out better.  And that’s exactly what happened.  Warm weather, no wind, super cool new locations and a FULL MOON!  Ahhhh yeah!!!!!  Here’s a sexy image that caught my eye.  More soon…
