Weddings of 2009: Part 1
Written by cindyc on February 21, 2010 -Confession: I never wanted to shoot weddings.
About 3 years ago, a friend asked me if I was going to photograph weddings. I replied, “No way. Never.”
Back then, just the thought of shooting weddings scared me to death. Crazy thoughts went through my head. What if I slept in? What if I missed the first kiss? What if, what if?
Then somehow, some way, I found myself shooting a wedding and I was instantly hooked. I quickly learned that there’s nothing to be scared of. After all, a wedding is not some sort of mystical day when I must try to capture angels and rainbows with my camera (although a rainbow did appear at Amber + Chris’ wedding). It’s just like any another other day that I bust out my camera…..but better. Much, MUCH better. Emotions are at an ultimate high, kisses are given out freely, laughs are heard constantly and tears flow from the toughest men.
Now, 27 weddings later…I am proud to say that I’m a wedding photographer. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s the people in the photos who create the images. Yeah, I’m there to snap the shutter…but I give all of the credit to these amazing, hilarious, talented, creative, trusting, thoughtful and crazy-in-love couples.

Don’t ever do that many photos again…are you trying to blow our minds!!!
These were so fun to flip through and I am just glowing because I am so proud of you! You should be extremely proud of yourself and all that you have brought into these wonderful (and blessed) couple’s lives. Their lives are richer for having you in their lives…I know this…because mine is too
Love you! Awesome work, my friend.

Cindy — you have a gift, a marvelous gift, of bringing people’s stories to life through your images. There are wedding photographers out there who can do a good job of capturing the day and the beauty of it all. But what sets you apart from all others is your ability to capture the love … those quiet moments where Chuck is kissing Amy’s shoulder, or Amber and Chris are looking at each other while eating. We know by looking at these photos that you are just as in love with your subject as your subjects are with each other. Good, amazing, work!
